I’m Back!

I had to take a few days off while I was at my conference – I just had too much going on and I couldn’t find time or brainspace to write.

And now I have both too much to say and nothing to say so I’m putting this post of nothing much just to get back into the swing of things.

As the crow sits

I dropped over to a friend’s place today and her crow companion was there to visit at the same time.

A crow sits on the brown railing of my friend’s blurb duplex.

2 for joy

Yesterday on my walk, I saw 4 crows sitting on a fence.

Oddly, they didn’t seem to be all hanging out together, there were two on one side and two on the other.

They were like when you try to mix two groups of your friends at a party but things don’t quite gel.

Is it selective of me to choose a photo of just two of them for this post?

Am I editing my experience to focus on what I want to see?

Perhaps.

But I’m going to carry on like this anyway.

Another busy week

I’m heading off to a conference on Wednesday and I am doing my best not to overload myself with tasks before then.

I’m a bit of an anxious traveller. I don’t worry about big things like accidents or crashes, I worry about late planes and missed connections and that sort of thing.

It’s not unreasonable to consider those but since I can’t actually do anything about them – beyond figuring out a short alternate plan as needed- it’s really best to put those worries aside.

And one of the ways my brain does that is to fill up my time with things.

What things?

Anything that I can think of that feels like it would be good to clear off my metaphorical plate. “Oh, if I did that then I wouldn’t have to think about it while I’m away.’

Even though it may not have come up at all except for my brain’s frantic search for something ‘useful’ to do right now.

I’m trying to coax myself away from that trap and just adjust to the uncertainty inherent in travel plans.

This may take more than one try.

Mystery path

Ok, it’s not really a mystery, I know where it is and where it goes but it *looks* mysterious and inviting…at least to me.
