An actual art project

My friend M and I are working on an actual art project and I’m ridiculously excited about it.

I do lots of creative things on the regular but I don’t often get around to working on things that are tangible and that have a clearly defined end point.

And I don’t often make a clear plan before I start.

This project will be an interesting test of my ability to include all of those things in my creative practice.

Let’s see how it goes!

World Storytelling Day!

I hosted a story circle tonight to celebrate World Storytelling Day so I got to hear a bunch of great stories from my storytelling friends.

It was a really relaxing time even though I was hosting.

It was the perfect way to celebrate a day dedicated to the community-building, empathy-developing, connection-growing, core element of my work.

A great work day

ADHD be damned!

I had a great work day today.

I was able to get down to work quickly and stay focused and do all of my most important tasks.

And I did all that while taking time to exercise and walk the dog and make lunch and supper.

I’m hoping to have a similar day tomorrow but in order to have any chance of doing that I have to override my instinct to just keep working tonight.

My ADHD brain is telling me to ‘strike while the iron is hot’ and keep plugging away at my work.

But I’m not going to fall for that this time.

I’m going to relax and rest this evening and just make a good plan for tomorrow.

That’s a lot of pressure, really

I was in a restaurant bathroom last night and the owners had really put some effort into decorating the place.

But this is a lot of pressure for a quick bathroom stop, isn’t it?

A photo of a restaurant bathroom wall with a mirror in the centre and a sign on either side. One sign reads ‘unwind’ and the other reads ‘relax.’ There’s a light fixture overhead and the reflection in the mirror shows two stall doors painted like houses and part of my left side.
