Hurrah for Sunday

I don’t have anything scheduled today so my brain has been ‘off leash’ all day and I feel great.

I’ve done all kinds of stuff but I did it at my own pace and on my own schedule so this has been such a relaxing day so far.

Next up: reading on the patio until I feel like doing something else.

Update: I did get some writing done yesterday before going to the Art Crawl. AND everyone who visited our table at the crawl had a great time making a thumbprint monster.

Today, I’m taking a workshop!

[I wrote this on Wednesday but apparently closed the app before publishing it.]

And I’m a bit scared.

Well, apprehensive, really.

I’m not scared of being creative,

I’m not worried about trying something new,

I’m afraid of not fully grasping the instructions and feeling stupid and…

Well the short version is that I hate the thought that I might make things more complicated for the instructor because she will have to explain it in a different way or she might be concerned that I am upset or something and…

I’m overthinking again.

Classic Me Mistake

Before I was diagnosed/medicated, one of the ways that I would regularly overestimate my capacity was to assume that I could get just as much done on a meeting-filled day as I could on a day with no outside commitments.

I’m not sure if the problem was that I was imagining the meetings were taking less time than they were – equating them with a a quickly done task – or that I thought I could scale the other tasks to fit into the time available after the meetings.

I don’t do that regularly any more but every now and then I make that classic me mistake.

Today was one of those times.

Sigh.
