Working in bits and pieces

As usual, I did more thinking that writing on my writing retreat but I did get some work done on my novel.

I’ve realized two important things:

1) I have to make a few decisions about characters before I can proceed with several large sections.

2) Once I have done step 1, it will be easier to work consistently and get things revised a few pages at a time.

So I’m calling this retreat a victory.

A Novel Weekend

I’m spending the weekend at a writing retreat with some friends and the plan is to emerge with two more chapters of my novel revised.

And I’m hoping to get a good sense of how to break the rest down into steps.

I may also do some hanging around, chatting, and snacking.

By the way, in the context, *may* means *will.*

Snack Planets – Index Card a Day

My most recent Index Card a Day makes me grin when I see it.

It’s good when your own art makes you happy, isn’t it? 🙂

An index card featuring three planets with rings against a black background with gold dots, framed in bright green. One planet has orange slices on a green background and a yellow ring, another has a picture of a strawberry and has a green ring, the final one has a lemon slice on a blue background and a yellow ring. ?

Some small things

Sometimes, a little bit of happiness just shows up on your front step.

Or, in my case, on the path to my front step.

I just love how these leaves and flowers and bits of grass fell right here.
