I visited a friend at her summer home today and, as a bonus, I got to see this delightful creature.

I’m having a hard time getting my brain in gear today so I did some doodles/Zentangle patterns.

I know that Friday the 13th is supposed to be an unlucky day but I always had good luck on these Fridays.
I sometimes wonder if the fact that people think it’s going to be unlucky makes them see a lack of luck.
I know that the whole concept of 13 being unlucky is from folklore and mythology, but it’s funny how it still persists. And how it is rarely evaluated.
I mean, there’s a whole bunch of questions we could ask ourselves about how the idea that something is a certain way makes it that way. And I know there are greater research minds than mine exploring that.
But I still like thinking about it.
And I like the fact that the number 13 and specifically Friday the 13th have always felt lucky to me.
Maybe I’m just being contrary but I’m rolling with it.
So, a few times in the last week, I have prepped supper early.
One day last week, I just chopped some stuff, no big deal, but it was helpful.
Yesterday, I cooked part of our meal earlier in the day so I could just reheat it later.
And today, I have made the whole meal by 10am and I am just going to assemble and heat it this evening.
This process feels really spacious.
Yesterday, my husband had to run an errand after work and supper needed to be about 30 minutes later than usual.
Since I had the main part of our meal cooked, it made sense to wait until he arrived before assembling everything else.
So, at the end of my work day, I had time to read and have a cup of tea before getting supper ready.
It was only a little bit of time but it felt huge.
And it really helped me separate the parts of my day.
Now I have to figure out how to make that happen more often.
I love when Khalee sleeps with her nose pointed forward like this.
I don’t know why it makes me happy but it does.
