Restful Creativity

I was feeling so jumbled yesterday that I decided that I needed to spend some serious time creating stuff.

So I did.

I feel really lucky to be able to take that time when I need it and I was really happy with the little drawings and collages that I made.

The process was practically meditative.

And today it was much easier to get my brain to do the things I wanted to do.

A great chat

Last night I hosted an online conversation about storytelling and had a magnificent time.

It was a small group of experienced tellers talking about how we go about developing and revising stories, how we make them our own.

It’s so incredibly cool how we can start from the same idea – or even the same story – and once we put our own perspective and experiences into it, we each have a unique tale to tell.

It’s fascinating to hear the similarities and the differences in everyone’s approach and it makes for an excellent reminder that everyone has something to bring to the metaphorical table.

What a pleasure it is to hang out with other storytellers this way!

Today feels summery

As I write this, I am lying in my circular swing that is hanging from a tree in my backyard.

This is one of my favourite sights in the entire world.

A photo taken from underneath, looking up at branches of a tree with bright green leaves and blue sky beyond.

Brain jumble

Ever hear the quote ‘Sorry this letter is so long, I didn’t have time to make it shorter?’

I am living that today.

I’m a chatty writer at the best of times but when I’m busy or jumbled, I REALLY take the long way around.

Except for this post apparently!
